Hello, and welcome to Blessed With Chaos blog!
I chose the name “Blessed With Chaos” because of how much the literal meaning resonates with me. With my daughter Stetsyn being diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic neurological disorder, we have experienced a LOT of chaos in our life lately. Though life has been stressful, uncertain, hectic, emotional and on some days a downright mess (literally and figuratively), I have chosen to see the positive side of the circumstances. You see, I don’t mean we are “blessed and have chaos” I literally mean that we have been blessed by the addition of chaos, sort of like most people would feel they are blessed with calm or success, I am thankful for the chaos.
Why would anyone feel blessed and thankful for chaos? Well, that can be simple or complicated to answer, but I’m going to give the simple version here, and the complex version(s) later. Simply put, I am thankful for the chaos because it has brought me closer to Jesus and strengthened my faith. How could I not be thankful for something that has given me everything?
Through my faith I have become a better person, wife and mother. I have also had the incredible opportunity to introduce my husband to God’s Word. You see, we were both raised knowing what religion and faith were, but were never immersed in the practice. That’s all I want to speak to for my husband in order to respect his privacy.
Through this blog, I am excited to share Stetsyn’s story, her journey with Rett Syndrome and advocate and raise awareness for Rett Syndrome and inclusion. My other passions include mental health advocacy, psychology and social work, as well as creating polymer clay jewelry and other crafts. I cannot wait to share many informative, entertaining and fun posts with you!
